About PAAF

Port Adelaide Artists Forum

PAAF meet on the first Tuesday of each month (except December) at 6.30pm at Gallery Yampu.  New members are always welcome.

Port Adelaide Artists Forum (PAAF) was established in 2005 by local Port Adelaide artists Bob Daly and Kalyna Michenko.  The first project for PAAF was painting an opening banner and a giant shoe float for the Adelaide Enfield Twilight Christmas Parade.

By 2007 PAAF had begun working with the community in projects such as the PAAF ‘Community Fare’ establishing a small vegie patch at Alberton Primary School for children to grow food for the for a shared meal to celebrate The Port Festival.  The meal was served in handmade ceramic bowls decorated with images of The Port, PAAF made decorations for the site, applique banners and local artist Peter Johnson made large clay braziers formed to look like ship funnels to provide warmth and beauty for the event.  PAAF were awarded a ‘Service to the Community’ award on Australia Day 2008 for this project.

Since 2008 PAAF have been hosting workshops for the community, inviting guest artists to teach new skills to PAAF artists including working with clay as well as paint, recyclables and fabric for all manner of projects including:
